RULES AND REGULATIONS

  •  As per Govt. order students are hereby informed that the college campus should be strictly maintained for academic purposes. Political activism is strictly banned in the campus. Those students who resort to strikes or undertake processions should intimate the matter in writing to the Principal, seeking his permission, before resorting to such activities .No person from outside is allowed to organize meeting or meet students in group inside the college campus.

  •  Students are to be modest in their behavior to the teachers and be modestly dressed. The students should wear the identity card inside the campus. They have to maintain decorum in their dress and general behavior. Students should handle the property of the college with care. No marking, painting etc. shall be made on the furniture, building and apparatus of the college. No notices/pamphlets or petitions of any kind shall be circulated among the students without the permission of the Principal. Similarly no meeting, procession or function shall be conducted within the campus without the permission of the Principal.

  •  As per Govt. order students are forbidden from using mobile phones or camera phones in the campus. Violation of this will be treated as per rules. Offenders will be levied fine and the mobile phone will be confiscated. Smoking; chewing, snuffing and other unholy practices are strictly prohibited in the campus. Irregular attendance, insubordination to teachers, indifference in class, habitual mischief making, and obscenity in deeds or words are sufficient reasons for the suspension or dismissal of a student from the college. Malpractice in the test papers and the examinations will also result in the dismissal of the students.

  •  As per the honourable Supreme Court order dated 16/05/2007, severe and stringent action will be taken against the students who involve in ragging.

  •   RAGGING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN THE CAMPUS

National Service Scheme is a movement which aims at the physical, mental and spiritual development of the students. It cultivates a sense of duty, responsibility, co-operation and self help among students. The NSS helps to mould the youth of tomorrow in such a way that they become active participants in nation building at different levels. The NSS unit of the college plays an active role in developing the personality of students through community service. As envisaged in the motto of NSS ”NOT ME BUT YOU”, it serves as a platform for proper and positive socialization . By joining together and undertaking minor tasks, the student youth in our country find the NSS an avenue of self expression and group activity. The youth under the strict and sincere guidance of the Program Officers observe and study many practical lessons from and outside the class room. The NSS Volunteer gets satisfaction and self esteem from the little things he/she performs in the campus and the community.

ACTIVITIES OF THE YEAR 2019-20
The activities of the National Service Scheme of MKRM SNDP YogamArts and Science College for the year 2019-20 began with new volunteer group (50 members) in June 2019. The activities of the NSS unit have been carried out successfully under the supervision and guidance of the ProgrammeOfficer Mr. Jobish, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science. One of the early activities of NSS is the celebration of world environment day on June 5th by planting tree saplings in the campus. This Academic Year has been filled with many innovative activities both inside and outside the campus. Campus cleaningis the regular work of the NSS unit .For this purpose the volunteers were divided into five groups and each group took up the duty in alternate weeks.
NSS unit of the college conducted reading and debate competitions for the entire students in the college on 19th June, 2019. Under the leadership of NSS unit, several programmes such as quizzes and debates were organized to commemorate various days of National and International importance.The various activities were organized to observe important days like World Environmental Day, Yoga Day, Gandhi Jayanthi and World AIDS day.
Our NSS Volunteers actively participated and rendered their services at flood relief camps in September 2019. On September 12th, there was a class on ‘Pain and Palliative Care’. All first year and second year NSS volunteers participated in the class. There was a class with demonstration on ‘Disaster Management’ by a trained disaster management team on 21st September, 2019.It gave awareness and insight to react when a disaster occurs.
The Annual Seven Day Camp for the year 2019 was organised at G.L.P.S Marakkadav from December 20th to 26th . This camp became an unforgettable experience for the participants.

Every year, students elect a College Union with Executive Members,Chairman, Vice-Chairman, University Union Councilor, General Secretary, Arts Club Secretary, Magazine Editor, Lady Representatives, Class Representatives and Secretaries to the various subject associations. All the co-curricular activities of the college are organized and conducted by the College Union under the guidance of the Staff Advisor to the College Union. The College Union Election and other activities of the College Union are conducted as per the rules and guidelines of Government of Kerala and the Universityof Calicut.

A Career Guidance and Placement Cell functions in the college with a very clear objective of ensuring a high placement record and better reach to the students of our college. To facilitate this objective, several career guidance and placement awareness programmes are being conducted for our final year UG and PG students.
SNDP YOGAM College placement cell continued its initiatives in career development and Campus Recruitment activities in the Academic year 2019-20. The cell has organized different activities to meet the real life challenges and to facilitate employment opportunities for the students in our college.
During the financial year 2019-20,the placement cell has successfully networked with several institutions including Government, semi-Government and private sectors to arrange job opportunities. During the period under consideration, placement cell arranged around 20-25 programmes. The placement cell also arranged a career development training programme in collaboration with ‘Star Wing Consultancies’ to enhance the caliber of students.
‘SNDP YOGAM College Job fair2019’ was conducted on 6/12/2019 & 7/12/2019. Around 300-350 candidates participated in this Job Fair.

Study tours are conducted every year. These outings help the students to see different parts of the country, to enjoy companionship, to experience travel and to learn more in their respective  areas of study. It can be conducted by every department after obtaining   permission from the Principal. Students are not permitted to organise or conduct Excursions or Picnics withoutthe knowledge and consent of the Principal and Department Heads. The following instructions should be observed by students with regards to study tours.

  • Teachers who are deputed by  the Principal / HoD’s should  accompany  the students. 
  • A lady teacher is a must if girl students are included in the tour party. 
  • A detailed programme of travel, stay, places of visit, names of participants etc. should be submitted to the Principal before proceeding on a tour.
  • Written consent in the prescribed form should be obtained from the parents of all students going on tour. 
  • Only final year students are permitted to go on tours. 
  • Any act of indiscipline while on tour shall be considered as an act of indiscipline committed in the campus. It will invite punitive action.

 

The college has an SPORTS ASSOCIATION in order to promote physical educational activities of the college. All students of the college are the members of the association. The executive committee shall consists of:

  • Sports Secretary (Member of the college Union)

College arts club has been functioning under the guidance of Sri. Nikhil K Sunny, Asst. Professor, Department of multimedia. They have conducted the following programmes.

  2. COMET 2K19 – CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
  3. KERALAPIRAVI CELEBRATION
  4. KUMMATI 2K19 – ARTS FESTIVAL
  5. KOLLAM POLI SAANAM 2K20 – COLLEGE DAY CELEBRATION.

Apart from the usual curricular activities, All Subject Associations have conducted various Co Curricular events to enhance the quality of education. List of main programmsconducted by various departments during the academic year 2019-20 are as follows:
English Association

  • Commemoration of GirishKarnad, a prolific writer of English, a Quiz programme also was conducted for the literature students on the same day.
  • Inter department Football Match (named ESL2K) was held from October 10 to 15.
  • A legal awareness class on Cyber Law was conducted on 2nd September by the department under the auspices of the Legal Service Authority.
  • A workshop on life skill development was organized on 5th November 2019 so as to prepare the students to enhance their life skills

  • A seminar on the topic: SCOPE OF NANOSCIENCE AND POTENTIAL IMPACT OF NANOTECHNOLOGY by, JOBY SEBASTIAN(Asst. Prof. Dept. of Physics, St. Thomas College,Trissur).

SCIENCE FEST- CHCXULUB-2K20

A resourceful Science Fest was organized by sciencedepartments of our college on 10th and 11th of January, 2020.In this event, many schools and colleges from Wayanad district took part. Exhibition, Workshops, Maths Olympiad, Spot Games, Exhibition Vehicle from Regional Space Centreand various intercollegiate and inter school competitions were the highlights of the fest.

We are proud to say that a significant number of our students participated in various intercollegiate competitions conducted at various colleges across the state. The major achievements of our students are listed below.

  1.  Won the first prize of and Rs.50000/- in ‘I-LEAD -Leadership Fest-2K19’ conducted at LEAD college of management, Palakkad
